Bear in mind these role-based certifications are structured into 3 expertise levels. Fundamentals, Associate and Expert, each of which are detailed below.
Fundamentals Certification
The Fundamentals certification is focused towards IT professionals that are starting out in technology or professionals looking to validate their skills, equally if you are contemplating a career change these could be the right exams for you. Fundamental certifications usually require you to pass just one exam.
Associate Certification
The Associate certification is focused more towards IT professionals with 2+ years’ experience in the technologies covered. Aspiring professionals without 2+ years’ experience may choose to take a Fundamentals exam first in the same technology to gain knowledge and build their way to an Associate exam level. Associate exams require you to pass one or two exams.
Expert Certification
The Expert certification is focused more towards IT professionals with an extensive knowledge of the technologies covered and usually have at least 3+ years’ experience. Most Expert certifications require you to pass one associate certification and then at least one further exam, totalling 3 exams overall.
